Many sources say that the beginning of cinema in Morocco was in 1901 by some French guys. However, the Moroccan director Bouchta Al Mashrooh, after much research and investigation in French archives, came out with what confirms that the beginning of the emergence of cinema in Morocco was in 1897 by Prince Albert I, the governor of Monaco, who visited the cities of Safi and Rabat and filmed two short films, which constitute the true beginning of cinema in Morocco.
